D.C.’s New Plan to Slash Its Trash

The District of Columbia has made some progress in reducing waste, but a long-awaited Zero Waste DC Plan has pushed the target date back to 2040, and calls for policies to phase out certain single-use plastics and increase access to recycling and composting services.
