George H. Lambert, Washington, D.C. I strongly believe that President-elect Trump clearly has an interest in terms of supporting all of the country. It's time for the country to come together. Obviously the campaign was a very rough campaign, but at this time the administration or the [GOP] can't cast off half of the country. The Urban League is an organization that will weigh in on particular of how we can be of support and continue to serve persons of color.

Tawana Nicole, Washington, D.C. In D.C., smoking is not allowed in apartments, regardless if folks are paying three grand for a two-bedroom. It's not just in your apartment either, but also common areas like pools, your balcony or patio. Basically, you can only smoke in your car, but I appreciate it as a nonsmoker.

VIEWPOINTS: Do you agree with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s recent announcement that smoking will be banned in all public housing developments?

Theresa Oliphant, Charlotte, North Carolina No, I didn't participate in Black Friday or Cyber Monday, because I feel that in my older age, there is more to me than just shopping. I used to be a big Black Friday shopper, but it's just not something that I'm interested in anymore. Plus, things are so dangerous now. I prefer to online shop anyway, but it doesn't necessarily have to be on Cyber Monday.
