The documentary “The Mecca of Comedy: The Rise of Standup Comedy in Washington, DC” explores the D.C. area’s rich comedy history and the successful comedians it has produced, including Tommy Davidson, Dave Chappelle, Martin Lawrence, Donnell Rawlings and Wanda Sykes.
