EDITORIAL: Inmates Being Punished Further as Detention Centers Ignore Dangerous Effects of Climate Change

The incarcerated are at high risk for heat-related morbidity and mortality due to their physical confinement, social isolation, and high rates of chronic mental and physical illnesses, yet many states do not universally air condition their prisons, leaving inmates to suffer in the heat.
