Portuguese Rejects President’s Call for Reparations Despite Acknowledging Colonial Crimes

Portugal’s government has rejected calls for reparations for slavery and other colonial-era atrocities, despite President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa’s acknowledgement of his country’s role in the transatlantic slave trade and colonial era.
