The Department of Parks and Recreation in Prince George’s County, part of M-NCPPC, launched Thursday its Safe Summer campaign, an initiative designed to provide teens and preteens an array of programming, activities and events this season.

The Safe Summer 2024 campaign is designed to empower and inspire youth to go outside for recreation in safe spaces and will include late-night recreation. With a steadfast commitment to providing enriching experiences while prioritizing safety, the department said it is poised to offer a summer filled with growth, fun and adventure.

Safe Summer will offer various programs for ages 10-17 from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day at recreation centers, parks and pools in the county.

Campaign events include:

“The Department is committed to providing teens and preteens with safe, enriching, and memorable summer experiences,” said Stephen Makle, youth coordinator for the department. “Our programs are designed to inspire curiosity, promote personal growth, and empower youth to reach their full potential.”
